My Therapy Approach
I use a professional, warm, authentic, confidential, and non-judgmental approach to work towards your goals and problem solve through any barriers that may get in the way. I am trained in effective therapies and interventions that are supported by research. These can be adapted to suit your needs. They include CBT, ACT, and DBT (see 'resources' for more information about the different types of therapy). My services are neurodiverse and rainbow friendly 🌈 |

My Background and Experience
I have practiced as a psychologist in a number of different areas, including supporting people with physical health issues, in correctional settings, in a university therapy centre, and in alcohol and drug specialist services.
About Me
I have been a Westie for the past 10+ years and love working as a West Auckland psychologist. When I am not working, I mostly spend my time with family/friends/pets and time in nature. I also spend a bit of time practising strategies to manage my own negative core beliefs and intense emotions :)
The Reason I Became a Psychologist
In my teens and early adulthood I went through some tough times, and I saw a psychologist to see if she could help me with the impact of this. Unfortunately, I felt completely misunderstood throughout the sessions and I left feeling even worse than when I arrived. However, it was from this experience that I became interested in becoming a psychologist myself, as I was able to see that therapy could be useful in the right setting. It is from these experiences that I aim to make therapy a positive and useful experience for all my clients.
